What this means is that there will never be any extra out-of-pocket expenses for your insurance company, or for you. General questions your insurance will ask when filing an auto glass claim:

What is the person’s name on the policy? (The individual named on the insurance card) Most insurance providers will only accept the claim from the person named on the policy.

What is your insurance policy number? Please be aware that several insurance providers such as State Farm have different policy numbers for each car.

What piece of glass on your car received damages? Example: windshield, vent glass, door glass, back glass or quarter glass, front, rear, drivers side,  or passenger side?

Was there any more damage besides glass? Please be aware if there is body damage or stolen items: You may have to pay your comprehensive deductible, if the answer is yes.

Was anyone hurt because of this auto glass breakage?

Was there a claim filed with your insurance provider? If you only talked to your agent and no claim number was issued, the answer is no.

What was the date of the loss? Please note: Your insurance provider is unable to choose the date. If you do not remember the precise date, choose a date when you suspect the damage could have happened, like when you first saw it, or the day the break spread. Make sure your coverage existed during this time. In addition: If you choose a date, within the last six months or more, your insurance provider may have to look back through the information and it may hold up your claim.

In what state did the breakage occur? Typically, the answer is Arizona.

Is the broken area on the windshield bigger than a dollar bill? Be aware if your answer is yes: Your insurance company may request that you have the auto glass repaired instead of replaced. However, if you want it replaced versus repaired, let your insurance company know this. It is unclear who has the final say; you, your insurance company, Arizona Department of Transportation, or the auto glass repair facility. However, we believe that you pay for the coverage therefore you should have the final say.  Furthermore, the State of Arizona made requiring insurance companies to add this additional coverage at a low cost so that Arizona drivers did not have to drive with broken windshields that impair their vision.

Random Inspections: Please note; that several insurance providers require random windshield inspections before authorization can be given to the auto glass repair facility. These random inspections are to determine if the windshield can be repaired versus replaced or if the windshield is broken at all. Insurance companies that are noted to participate in this practice include; American Family, Geico , and USAA.

We believe that these inspections are just a way of delaying the claim and making windshield replacement claim processing more difficult (illegal practice) so that policyholders won’t take advantage of their coverage. Realistically, if a windshield break is smaller than the size of a dollar bill and the policyholder wants it replaced who’s to stop the policyholder from delaying the claim until the windshield breaks to the point beyond repair. Or, if the windshield is not broken, what stops them from breaking it? (Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement does not condone this kind of unethical behavior)

These insurance companies try to claim that they perform these random inspections to protect you from increased rates due to fraudulent claims. However, auto glass claims are filed directly by the policyholder themselves.  Therefore, it seems to me that these insurance companies do not trust their own policyholders.

Once they receive the auto glass claim, the majority of insurance providers are able to authenticate the coverage that the policyholder had coverage at the time of the damage to the windshield, giving the auto glass repair shop authorization to finish the work. Even so, some insurance providers must utilize a verification method offline because the TPA cannot access the policy information directly. When this occurs, the TPA emails your insurance provider for proof of coverage and then calls later. In these situations, they do not authorize us to perform the repair until verification of coverage. It usually takes about twenty-four hours. In an emergency, Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement directly calls the agent for the details.

Auto Glass Replacement and Your Insurance Company

Most major insurance businesses utilize third-party administrators (TPA) such as Safelite Solutions or LYNX Services to file auto glass damage claims on their behalf. A favored member, Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement is supported by both of these TPA’s and is a proud member of their auto glass program. Safelite Solutions handles the auto glass claims on behalf of insurance companies including Farmers, Liberty Mutual, Hartford, Nationwide, Progressive, Geico, American Family, and USAA. All windshield claims must be filed through Safelite Solutions. Safelite Solutions is owned and operated by Safelite Auto Glass but is ran as a separate entity.

Sometimes these insurance companies or agents may softly persuade you to use Safelite Auto Glass as your repair facility. But, realize by Arizona law, you have the right to choose your own auto glass repair facility. In addition, Safelite Auto Glass will not give you $50 cash or waive your deductible for utilizing there company. In addition, Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement offers the same nationwide lifetime warranty and charges your insurance company the same contracted price.

Another major third-party glass administrator is LYNX Services. Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement is a proud member of LYNX Services meaning we accept and honor all insurance contract pricing. The two major insurance companies that utilize LYNX Services for their auto glass claim processing include State Farm and Allstate. Again, be aware, although we are a member of LYNX Services that sometimes insurance companies or agents will still persuade you to use a company of their preference. Most of the time, it is because they have a direct relationship with those other repair companies and are receiving the incentives (kickbacks) and not you. Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement accepts and honors all insurance pricing provides a nationwide lifetime warranty and still gives you $50 cash.

It is now mandatory that every policyholder when filing damages for an auto glass repair or replacement must be present on the line. (To eliminate fraudulent claims) Ahwatukee Windshield Replacement will assist you in filing your auto glass claim by connecting you directly to the TPA handling your insurance company’s glass claims. We will first answer all of your questions or concerns making the call as comfortable as possible for you. In addition, we will stay on the line during the entire process so that we can assist you in any way possible.

Third-party administrators (TPA) may or may not have access to your entire insurance policy directly.  Therefore, please have your insurance policy number available. Usually, it takes about ten-fifteen minutes to file a complete auto glass no fault insurance claim.
